School Bus Explosion in Pakistan Claims Lives

(MENAFN) At least five individuals, including three minors, lost their lives and multiple others sustained injuries in a deadly blast that struck a school transport vehicle in the southwestern province of Balochistan on Wednesday, as stated by Pakistan's military.

The official statement from the armed forces claimed that the assault was "planned and orchestrated by India and executed by its proxies" operating in Balochistan.

The explosive attack reportedly aimed at defenseless, school-bound children in the district of Khuzdar.

“These Indian terror proxies are being employed as a state tool... to foment terrorism in Pakistan against soft targets such as innocent children and civilians,” the statement elaborated, suggesting that such attacks are part of a broader destabilization strategy.

As of the time this report was prepared, Indian authorities had not issued any formal response to the allegations made by Pakistan’s military.

No armed faction has taken responsibility for the assault so far.

However, the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has a history of executing comparable acts of violence in the area, often targeting both noncombatants and members of the security apparatus.

Local law enforcement confirmed that the detonation occurred while the bus was en route, transporting children to school.

This marked the first direct accusation by Pakistan against India since the latest bout of military tensions between the two South Asian rivals.

That confrontation concluded with a ceasefire brokered by the United States on May 10.

The confrontation had escalated on May 6, when India launched missile strikes into areas of Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, claiming to have struck "nine terror locations."

In retaliation, on May 10, Pakistan responded with its own missile barrage, asserting it had hit 26 Indian military sites in both Indian-administered Kashmir and mainland India.
